So…I had my one year review date with the corneal transplant surgeon and the news I got was mixed.

First of all I will be clear: the graft tissue is doing well and the last three sutures were removed today.

He also mentioned that he was beginning g to see a cataract forming in the lens. That is a side effect of long term steroid use unfortunately. Treatment is surgical once the entire lens clouds up.

But, I shouldn’t worry about that now. I’ll just focus on keeping the eye safe.

The second transplant is planned for later this year. Time to save up monies for that, because capitalism be like that!
