Sometimes I forget the eye problems that I have for a few hours, but then I get a rude reminder that I have an impairment.
Today I had to walk around the ministerial buildings in town.
The absence of depth perception is dangerous. I nearly sprained my ankle twice, nearly stepped into a manhole as well (I spotted the manhole on the way to the MoFA, but forgot when I left the building).
It’s so embarrassing.
But it’s better, than the blindness of before.
For that I’m grateful.
Transplant surgeon will be reviewing me next month; time to hear about cataract surgery and Photorefractive keratectomy (PRK).
