On Writing (Human)

I haven’t written in such a long time I can feel that writers muscle atrophy.
It’s not that I haven’t had any thoughts to post…I’ve just been keeping them siloed away. Inside.
Whether its thoughts on politics, technology or culture. I’ve just been ruminating on my lonesome.

I haven’t picked anything specific to talk about today. Just want to muse a bit on writing, and how the ascent of AI chat bots has already began to make its presence known in that field.
I must confess, I used ChatGPT to write two formal letters today. You’re probably wondering what would compel me to do that.

It’s just that using the AI seemed the correct option when you consider that I needed to adopt a rather saccharine, pleading tone for those letters whilst my personality clashes with that sort of behaviour. I think that’s called pride.
It worked out pretty well, although I did have to delete one paragraph because I thought the AI was doing a bit too much!

Do you think using chat bots to write letters is questionable?
What about a step further; Essays? Short stories? Research articles?
